Understanding the Custom URLs for TeamRaisers

The default URL to your TeamRaiser event contains the TeamRaiser ID and other information. To make access to this TeamRaiser event easier to remember (for example, when you want to tell someone or put the link in an email), you can create a customized URL that will take site visitors directly to the Greeting page. For example, for your Summer Fun Run, you can customize the URL by appending SummerFunRun2013.

By default, the customized URL is a temporary redirect. Because Google and other search engines rank temporary URL redirects low, you can make this a permanent redirect to boost its ranking within the search engines to make it more visible to your constituents, returning participants and donors, and other site visitors. To make this link permanent, you can enable the Permanent Customized Event Greeting Page Redirect URL event option (Select Event Options > Edit Advanced Event Options > Define Event Options).

You can also link to the page to display when site visitors click a link when this event is closed and no longer accepting registrations and gifts. This may be a PageBuilder page constructed specifically for the closed event with links to the upcoming events or a page on your web site.
