Installment Plan Donation Level Element
The Installment Plan Donation Level element, when placed on a form, allows a donor to commit to an overall dollar amount (represented by one of your levels) and then divide that amount into smaller installments for payment purposes -- perhaps choosing to pay the commitment in 12 monthly payments or in 4 quarterly payments. As the administrator, you determine the installment options that are available when you configure the data element.
Once the donor has decided on a giving level and payment option, a Calculate button allows the donor to determine the exact amount of the current payment. Successive payments are automatically deducted from the donor’s credit card or bank account at the appropriate time. Autoresponders are available to thank the donor for each payment.
The Installment Plan Donation Level has been incorporated into the template that bears the corresponding name. If you would like to add this element to a form that is based on a different template, you can replace the existing Giving Pattern element with the Installment Plan element using the Form Designer.
Important: You must remove any other giving pattern element (such as the Standard Donation Level) when you add the Installment Plan element. Each donation form can contain only one giving pattern element.
When editing the Installment Plan Donation Level element in the Form Designer or from a Preview, you can configure all of the installment options that you would like to make available to your donors. You can also configure the labels for the element, as well as donor hints and error messages.
Important: Before you configure the installment options, make sure that you have set up the giving levels that you would like to offer (for example, a Bronze level at $100, a Silver level at $200, a Gold level at $300, and a donor-entered level).
