Manage Security Permissions for Blackbaud AI – Chat
Solution administrators control access to Blackbaud AI features — such as Chat for Blackbaud AI — by assigning roles and permissions.
While admins determine which users can enable and use the feature, Chat for Blackbaud AI strictly adheres to your organization’s configured security permissions. This means users can only view and interact with data they are already authorized to access — ensuring compliance, protecting sensitive information, and maintaining role-based security across the platform.
Tip: To use Chat for Blackbaud AI, your organization admin must first enable generative AI features in your Blackbaud environment. For instructions, see the Opt In to Generative AI Features Globally help.
Note: Don’t see this yet? Chat for Blackbaud AI is currently in Limited Availability (LA) for some of our customers. Look for full support and general availability in a future release.
