Constant Contact FAQs
Tip: Don't see this yet? No need to worry. Expect its wider release in a future update.
How can I use this integration?
Connecting Raiser's Edge NXT with Constant Contact helps you reach your fundraising and marketing goals. If you opt to leverage this integration, you can:
-
Keep your marketing list up to date by automatically syncing constituents from Raiser's Edge NXT to Constant Contact.
-
Boost online giving by using donor insights to segment your audience and send targeted, relevant messages.
-
Create compelling campaigns using email templates, AI writing assistance, and brand elements, like colors, logos, and images, pulled directly from your website.
-
Track performance with reporting tools that show how your marketing efforts support fundraising.
-
Grow your audience with list-building tools that help you find new supporters.
Why don't I see the option to connect to Constant Contact?
Only admins with the Marketplace permission can connect the app. See Permissions to connect applications.
You can still explore features of Constant Contact without the app being connected.
Does this integration sync non-constituents as well as constituents?
Not at this time. If you add contacts directly in Constant Contact, they won’t sync back to Raiser's Edge NXT as new constituents. They’ll only appear in RENXT once they make a donation or register for an event using an Raiser's Edge NXT donation or registration form, such as if your org includes a Donate Now or Register Here link in an email that points to an Raiser's Edge NXT-generated URL.
This helps keep your database clean and avoids inflating your record count with non-donor supporters.
Note: Email is still the unique identifier in Constant Contact.
How frequently does Constant Contact update with Raiser's Edge NXT data?
Data syncs are updated daily, including:
-
Lists you select to sync
-
Consent
Additionally, certain data from Raiser’s Edge NXT is displayed in real time, including Planned and Historic Communications.
How is consent managed?
After integration, Constant Contact is a Consent Source in Raiser's Edge NXT. The two systems automatically sync consent preferences for email across both platforms. See Track Consent for Constant Contact.
For full details on consent for this integration, see Constant Contact's article, Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT Consent Categories.
Tip: To manage Consent Source, see Tables.

What fields map between systems when I import constituents?
The integration supports 44 predefined profile fields and additional custom field types, including integer, currency, date, multi-select, and true/false.
For the complete mapping list, see Constant Contact's article, Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT to Constant Contact field mapping.
Can I store data in Constant Contact?
Yes, you can acquire new contacts through lead generation efforts or import contacts that are not already synced to Raiser's Edge NXT.
More features to support syncing new contacts to Raiser's Edge NXT are planned for a future release.
