General Ledger Distributions for Funds

Tip: Don't see this yet? No need to worry. Expect its wider release in a future update.

Use general ledger distributions to define how your organization records revenue for gifts, pledges, payments, and other gift types. This setup ensures consistent and correct financial tracking across your revenue workflows. You can manage distributions on each fund in both Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT–integrated and non-integrated environments.

Add general ledger distributions to funds

  1. From Gifts, Funds, open the fund.

  2. Select Distributions.

  3. Select Add.

    • To copy settings from another fund, select Copy from and search for the fund. Copying replaces the fund’s current distribution settings.

  4. Select a Gift type to define which gift type the distribution supports.

    • Select a Gift subtype, if applicable.

  5. Enter a Distribution percent for Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT–integrated environments.

    • Add multiple distributions when needed. The total must equal 100%.

    • Select Distribute evenly to divide the distribution into equal percentages.

  6. Enter a Credit account number and a Debit account number.

    • For Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT–integrated environments, search for valid account numbers and interfund accounts.

    • For non‑integrated environments, type these numbers.

  7. When the first two numbers of the debit and credit accounts differ in Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT–integrated environments, select an interfund account because the accounts belong to different general ledger funds.

  8. Select Save.
