Gift Amounts
When you add or edit a gift, you can save several amounts — in addition to its total — to track how it applies to your fundraising efforts or who to credit for its acquisition.
Note: Only one-time cash gift amounts are editable.
Under Acknowledgements and receipts on the gift's record, you can view the receipt amount. It is the gift amount minus the value of any benefits the donor received. For more information, see Acknowledgements and Receipts.
When you edit a gift's amount, you can view the total benefit amount. It is the sum of all benefits associated with the gift. The gift amount can't be less than the total benefit amount.
Tip: To edit a gift's benefits, select Benefits on the Gifts tab of its record in the database view.
Under Fundraising details on the gift's record, you can view how its total amount is applied across separate campaigns, funds, and appeals. For more information, see Split Gifts.
Under Soft credits on the gift's record, you can view its soft credits, which recognize someone other than the donor — such as a spouse or family foundation — for all or part of the gift. For more information, see Soft Credits.
