Delete a Gift

In web view, you can delete a gift added via web view except for:

  • recurring gift payments

  • recurring gifts with an Active or Held status

  • pledge gifts added via web view, or via SKY API with the is_manual flag set to false, with a payment method of Credit card or Direct debit

To delete a gift, from the gift record, select Delete. If a gift isn't deletable, Delete isn’t available.

Note: These restrictions apply the same way to gifts added through an approved batch. Whether you can delete the gift depends on its type and payment method, not on how you added it.

Note: For gifts added via database view, or via SKY API with the is_manual flag set to true, you can only delete the gift if it is a recurring gift, recurring gift payment, or pledge.

Regardless of type, you can’t delete a gift if it has:

  • a payment with a live transaction ID

  • a GL distribution record

  • an adjustment

  • a matching gift

  • a pledge payment record or an uncommitted pledge payment in a batch

  • a recurring gift payment record or an uncommitted recurring gift payment in a batch

  • a write-off

  • receipt history

  • a receipt status of Receipted
