Reverse or Unpost Posted Gifts

To give you flexibility with managing general ledger posted gifts, you can reverse or unpost them. These options help ensure that your financial records reflect accurate gift statuses and balances, maintaining transparency and accountability in financial reporting.

Note: Consider any account-balancing issues that may arise before you reverse or unpost gifts.

Reverse posted general ledger batches

Reverse a posted general ledger batch when the entire batch requires correction, such as after gift returns or data errors.

1. Open the posted gift record.

2. Select Reverse.

Note: General ledger posting batch details expire after twenty-nine days. Once the data is removed, you can run a new query to find posted gifts.

Unpost gifts

Unpost gifts when you need to update specific posted gifts without reversing an entire general ledger posted batch.

1. Open Gifts, Post gifts.

2. Select Unpost gifts.

3. Select a query.

4. Select Unpost to change the post status of gifts in the query from Posted to Not Posted.
