Giving Facts
With Insight Designer in Analysis, you can use facts with insights and key performance indicators (KPIs) to analyze numerical amounts and percentages about giving through gifts or toward fundraising efforts and their goals.
Use these facts to analyze the cost of your solicitations, such as for printing and postage.

Appeal expense — The actual cost of an appeal expense.

Appeal expense, budgeted — The planned cost for an appeal expense.
By default, these facts provide the sum — or total — based on all appeal expenses. To analyze a different amount or specific appeals with an insight, adjust the fact.

To analyze a different amount, select the fact under Facts and choose which calculation to use.

To include fewer appeals, select the fact under Facts, select Add attribute filter, and choose the criteria of the appeals to analyze, such as by category.

Use these facts to analyze how much you intend to raise or acquire through campaigns, funds, and appeals, such as to compare their performance and expectations.

Appeal goal — How much you intend to acquire through appeals or solicitations.

Campaign goal — how much you intend to raise toward your overall initiatives.

Fund goal — How much you intend to raise toward specific causes.
By default, these facts provides the sum — or total — of its goals. To analyze a different amount or specific fundraising with an insight, adjust the fact.

To analyze a different amount, select the fact under Fact and choose which calculation to use.

To include fewer fundraising efforts, select the fact under Facts, select Add attribute filter, and choose the criteria of those to analyze.
Use these facts to analyze gifts based on the fundraisers who receive credit for their acquisition.

Gifts by credited fundraiser — How many gifts a fundraiser receives credit for.

Gift fundraiser credit — How much credit a fundraiser receives for gifts they help acquire. By default, this fact provides the sum — or total — of its fundraiser credits. To analyze a different amount, select the fact under Facts and choose which calculation to analyze. For more information, see Facts and Counts.
Note: Since multiple fundraisers can receive credit for giving, these facts may double-count gifts.
By default, these facts include every gift or constituent. To break down a total or analyze only specific gifts or donor, use the fact with an attribute or filter.

To include only specific gifts or donors in a fact, select Add attribute filter and choose the criteria of those to analyze.

To analyze a fact's gifts in context of each fundraiser, use it with the Fundraiser name attribute.

To analyze a fact's giving by specific criteria, such as gift type, use it with an attribute.
Use these facts to analyze giving based how much donors give toward your fundraising efforts.

Gift amount — How much donors give overall toward your campaigns and funds.

Gift amount committed — The total amount acquired through committed revenue, such as commitments toward your fundraising efforts.

Gift amount received — The total amount acquired through received revenue, such as cash-in-hand giving.
Tip: Admins! In Control Panel, Settings, you can choose which gift types your organization counts as received or committed revenue. For more information, see Revenue and Recognition.

Gift projected amount — The total amount scheduled through:

The balance of pledge installments that haven't been paid or written-off

Recurring gift payments that haven't been paid or skipped

With Prospect Research Management, the expected amount of open and active opportunities

Gift receipt amount — The tax-deductible portion of a gift. Typically, the gift amount less the value of any benefits the donor receives.

Gift recognition amount — How much is acquired through the types of gifts and soft credits your organization considers recognition.
Tip: Admins! In Control Panel, Settings, you can choose which gift types your organization counts as recognition. For more information, see Revenue and Recognition.

Gifts, committed — The total count of gifts raised through gift types configured as committed revenue, such as for fundraising totals

Gifts, received — The total count of gifts raised through gift types configured as received revenue, such as for accounting totals
To include only specific gifts or donors, select Add attribute filter and choose the criteria — such as Gift type or Constituent primary code — of those to analyze.
Tip: Admins! In Control Panel, Settings, you can set up which gift types your organization considers as received or committed revenue. For more information, see Revenue and Recognition.
An appeal can contain multiple packages, which are the different versions of content and items it includes. Use these facts to analyze appeals based on their packages' details.

Package goal — How much you expect to acquire through the package

Package recipients — How many constituents were solicited through the package
By default, these facts provide the sum — or total — based on all packages. To analyze a different amount or specific packages with an insight, adjust the fact.

To analyze a different amount, select the fact under Facts and choose which calculation to use.

To include fewer packages, select the fact under Facts, select Add attribute filter, and choose the criteria of the packages to analyze, such as by category.

To analyze pledges with overdue installments, use these facts with insights or KPIs.

Pledge amount past due — The total amount pending through overdue pledge installments.

Pledges past due — The total number of pledges with overdue installments.
Tip: To include only specific pledges or donors in the fact, apply an attribute filter and choose the criteria of those to analyze.
To analyze giving through pledge installments, use these facts with insights.

Pledge installment amount — How much of an installment applies toward a campaign or fund, based on the distribution of its pledge.

Pledge installment balance — How much remains pending for a pledge through an upcoming or overdue installment.
By default, these facts provide the sum — or total — based on all pledge installments. To analyze a different amount or specific installments with an insight, adjust the fact.

To include fewer innstallments, select the fact under Facts, select Add attribute filter, and choose the criteria of the pledges to analyze, such as those given by specific constituent codes or toward specific campaigns or funds.
