Personal or Organization Information
A constituent's ID, demographics, and biographical information can help you identify and understand them at a high-level. Under Constituent summary on the constituent record, you can view these details under Personal info or Organization info.
Note: You can manage available options for some fields in Tables. For more information, see Tables.
In the Constituent ID field, you can view the identification number of the constituent's record in the database. Use this to help ensure you have the right person or organization, such as for people with the same name, subsidiary businesses, or members of a franchise.
Tip: From Configuration in the database view, your organization can choose whether to generate sequential numeric constituent IDs. To automatically assign IDs when you add constituents, select Generate IDs under Business Rules and then select Constituent IDs.
In the Gender field, you can view how a person defines their gender, such as male, female, or non-binary. Understanding an individual's gender, or how they identify themselves, can help foster comfortable and positive interactions. For suggestions on how to engage donors based on gender, see Demographics Best Practices.
Note: You can manage available options in Tables. For more information, see Tables.
In the Marital status field, you can view an individual's relationship status, such as married, single, or divorced. You can use this information to avoid potentially awkward interactions — such as with someone who recently separated or divorced — as well as to help identify candidates for soft credits on gifts.

You can use this information to tailor your communication with constituents, such as to reach out to Millennials via social media or other online channels rather than direct mail. For suggestions on how to engage donors based on age, see Demographics Best Practices.
