Planned Gifts
Planned gifts are commitments donors make, often as part of estate planning, to contribute to your organization at a future date. Depending on the method — or vehicle — a donor chooses, the gift may provide lifetime income, payments to beneficiaries, or tax benefits. Planned gifts often involve long timelines, complex conditions, and noncash assets that require careful tracking.
In database view, the optional module PlannedGiftTracker helps you track planned gifts from donor commitment through final payment and beneficiary disbursement. On a planned gift record, you can review key details, conditions, and related activity tied to the contribution.
For PlannedGiftTracker users, in web view you can add planned gifts, link one-time gifts, and manage records.
What You Can Manage in Web View
On existing planned gift records, you can work with the following areas:

When a planned gift includes items of value, such as stock or property, you can view them under Assets. For each asset, you can review descriptive details, current value, and the donor’s original cost basis.
Planned gift details
Under Planned gift details, you can view key information that defines the gift and its status, including:
-

-
Vehicle, which identifies how the donor specified the gift conditions
-
Expected maturity year, which indicates when you expect the gift conditions to be met
-
Gift status, which reflects whether the conditions are complete
-
Net present value, which shows the current estimated value
-
Revocable, which indicates whether the donor can change the gift
-
Gift has been realized, which shows whether your organization received final payment
You can also review vehicle‑specific details under the vehicle name. For more information, see Planned Gift Vehicles.
