Opportunity status: web or database view?

You can save an opportunity's status on the General tab of its proposal record in the database view, but we recommend managing changes under Status on its record in the web view instead. When you use the web view, you can:

• Quickly see how long the opportunity has been in its current status.

• Scroll through its solicitation process history.

• View and manage all previous statuses in one place.

If you track an opportunity's status changes in the database view instead:

• You can manage only the current status.

• You can't view how long the opportunity's has had its current status.

• Updates may take at least 15 minutes to appear in the web view.
