Financial Information
With financial information, you can manage research about a constituent's wealth to estimate their capacity to give. Use this information along with other prospect research — such as their loyalty ratings and history of contributions — to determine how much to ask for a gift.
With Prospect Research Management, you can manage a constituent's financial information under Prospect management on their record. For each asset you add as financial information, you can manage its type, source, date acquired or assessed, amount, and any additional details.
Under Financial information summary, you can quickly view a breakdown of a constituent’s total estimated assets including stock, compensation, real estate, net worth, and other assets. For detailed information about a particular type of asset, select its name
Tip: If a prospect has a high total of estimated assets, but most are tied up in real estate and securities, you may want to adjust your solicitation to reflect their liquidity. However, if they have a high amount of philanthropic giving, you may be able to increase your ask based on their likelihood to give.
Note: If your organization uses ResearchPoint, select View in ResearchPoint for more comprehensive details of a constituent's wealth and estimated giving.

On the record of the constituent, select Edit, Financial information under Prospect management.

Select Add new financial information.

In the Type field, select the type of income or asset you are recording, such as Net Wealth, Annual Salary, or Personal Property.

In the Source field, choose where you gathered the information from, such as Annual Report, Article, or Tax Record.
Tip: Set up and manage financial information types and sources in Tables. For more information, see Tables.

In the Date acquired field, select when you received this financial information.

In the Date assessed field, select when this financial information was assessed or rated.

In the Amount field, enter the estimated amount of the asset or income.

In the Comments field, enter any related notes.

Select Save.

On the record of the constituent, select Edit, Financial information under Prospect management.

Select Edit for the financial information to update.

Adjust the information as necessary, and select Done.

Select Save.

On the record of the constituent, select Edit, Financial information under Prospect management.

Select Edit for the financial information to delete, then select Delete.
