Update Organization Names and Tax ID

You can update your organization's legal name alias, display name, and tax ID that can appear in the portal, and on receipts and giving statements, email messages, and forms, from Settings, Control panel.

Update Legal Name Alias and Display Name

If you choose not to change the display name or legal name alias, Raiser's Edge NXT uses displays the legal name provided at the time of purchase.

• The legal name alias appears throughout Raiser's Edge NXT where an overall organization name is required.

  Tip: When you set the legal name alias, the name appears in the portal when your organization has multiple Raiser's Edge NXT databases. It does not modify your organization’s legal name.

• The display name is used in the portal, email messages, and forms.

1. From Settings, select Control panel.

2. Select General information.

3. Select Customize legal name, if not selected.

4. Under Basics, select Edit to update the:

   • Legal name alias

   • Display name

5. Select Save.

Update Tax ID

You may need an alternate tax ID that appears on receipts and giving statements if your organization references more than one tax ID in parts of the organization that were merged or acquired. Admins can enter a tax identifier to use as an alternate to the primary tax ID.

1. From Settings, select Control panel.

2. Select General information.

3. Under Basics, select Edit to update the tax ID.

4. Select Save.

Tip: Blackbaud uses your organization’s primary tax ID to verify your non-profit status. To change it, contact Support.
