Statistical Reports

The Statistical Report provides a summary breakdown of constituent activity based on a selected field value — such as constituency code, campaign, fund, or gift type. It shows:

  • How many constituents meet the selected criteria

  • How many gifts those constituents gave

  • The total amount donated

This report is useful when you want a single-period snapshot of giving and constituent distribution, without comparing results across time periods.

Note: This report was migrated from Raiser's Edge database view and is available under Demographic and Statistical Reports in both locations.

What you can (and can’t) do with this report

What this report does

  • Groups constituents by a selected primary field

  • Summarizes gift counts and total giving for a single date range

  • Supports filtering by queries, gift types, and selected fields

What this report doesn’t do

  • Compare multiple time periods

  • Provide sorting or optional output columns

  • Support address processing or organization address reporting

Tip: If you need to compare results across multiple periods, use Comparisons and Summaries instead.

Report setup options

General

Define the scope and layout of the report.

  • Report title: Set a custom title.

  • Date range: Select the gift date range to include in the report.

  • Query: Optionally apply a query to filter which records are included. Supported query types:

    • Constituent

    • Individual

    • Organization

    • Gift

  • Report orientation: Choose Portrait or Landscape.

Fields

Use the Fields to control how constituents are grouped and displayed.

  • Primary field: Determines how constituents are grouped in the report.

  • Field values: For fields such as appeal, campaign, or fund, you can select specific values to include. Leave this blank to include all values.

  • Columns: You can include up to four columns. Columns are pre-populated based on your selected primary field but can be customized.

Filters

Use the Filters to further narrow the results by gift-related criteria.

  • Appeals

  • Campaigns

  • Constituencies (gift)

  • Funds

Gift Types

Choose which gift types are included in the report. Supported types include:

  • One-time gift

  • Pledge

  • Pledge payment

  • Matching gift

  • Matching payment

  • Stock

  • Sold stock

  • Gift-in-kind

  • Other

  • Recurring gift

  • Recurring gift payment

  • Planned gift

Note: Pledge write-offs and recurring gifts themselves aren’t included in this report.

Attributes

Use the Attributes to filter results using custom fields.

Format

Controls layout options only. Sorting and optional output columns aren’t available — the Statistical Report uses a fixed output structure.

When to use the Statistical Report

Use the Statistical Report when you want a quick, single-period summary of constituent and giving activity grouped by a specific field. For any scenario that requires time-based comparison or trend analysis, use Comparisons and Summaries instead.
