Benefits

To help encourage participation and engagement, you can offer benefits to constituents. Benefits are incentives you provide in return for support, such as donations, memberships, or participation in gifts and appeals. They can include items like merchandise, event access, discounts, or other perks that add value to the constituent experience.

You can track benefits in memberships, appeals, and gifts. While each area uses benefits in a different context, they all follow the same general concept. You define the benefit in code tables, specify how many you provide, and record its value. You can also track when you send or fulfill each benefit.

Benefit Tables

Start by creating benefit details in code tables, then associate them with appeals, gifts, event participants, and memberships.

Why benefits matter

Benefits help you recognize support, increase engagement, and communicate value to your constituents. They also help you manage fulfillment and understand the cost of the incentives you provide.

  • Reward constituents for their support

  • Increase engagement with your organization

  • Communicate value in fundraising efforts

  • Track fulfillment and associated costs

What you can track

For each benefit, you can record details to help you manage delivery and evaluate impact.

  • Quantity provided

  • Value to your organization and the constituent

  • Fulfillment status and dates

Plan effective benefits

To create meaningful benefits, focus on what your constituents value most. Review feedback, collaborate with your team, and align benefits with your organization goals. Clearly communicate these benefits in your outreach so constituents understand the value of their support.
