Test an Optimized Donation Form

After configuring and saving a form, test it to make sure it's easy for donors to use. By default, Optimized Forms are in test mode.

To test your form:

  1. From Online Giving, Overview, select All donation forms, under Related Links.

  2. Select the form.

  3. Under Publish, select how you want to test the form — from its URL, QR code, or from a hyperlink on a webpage.

  4. Review the form in a browser and use a test credit card number to submit a payment.

  5. Make adjustments to the form as necessary and save the form.

Tip: To create one-time gift test records, edit the form and select Create test donation records under Payments and fees, Transaction processing. Test donations don't have a receipt or display in giving statements. They will appear in a batch that matches the form's payment configuration and payment method used. You can move the transactions to another batch so they aren't approved. For more information, see Gift Batch Records.

Note: To start taking donations, select Start processing donations now under Payment and fees. After you make this selection, you can't switch the form back to test mode.
