Receipt History

To help comply with government guidelines, you can view details about previously issued or reprinted receipts from a gift’s record under Acknowledgements on a gift’s record. If you created multiple copies of a receipt — such as if the printer jammed or the donor misplaced the original — you can select View receipt history in the Receipt history field to view the various numbers, when you printed or issued them, and the gift amounts. For each receipt, you can also view:

  • Receipt stack — The group of receipts it was issued from, such as if your organisation duplicates receipt numbers across gift types or various departments or chapters

  • Action — The process used to create it, such as reprint or reissue. Typically, you reprint a receipt if it is not yet issued to the donor — such as if the printer jams or the information is incorrect — and reissue if they received the original but need another copy.

Note: In the database view, you can set up the available actions from the Receipt Actions category in Tables under Configuration.

  • Reason — Why you created it

Note: A reprinted receipt does not necessarily include the reason or a new number.

Tip: In the database view, you can reprint or reissue a receipt from the gift’s record if the original is already created and includes a number. To create another copy, select Reprint Receipt from the Gift menu and enter its details. To view the receipt history, select Receipt on the Gift tab of the record.
