Add Gift Aid to Donation Forms

To give donors a way to increase the value of their gifts to your organisation, add Gift Aid to donation forms. It enables donors to make declarations that your organisation can claim at the basic tax rate for those gifts. For more information, see Gift Aid.

Note: As long as a donor provides their mailing address when they give through a donation form, a declaration will be written to their constituent record. Make sure address is available on your donation forms.

If a donor:

  • Makes a declaration via a donation form, a Pay tax declaration is added to their constituent record under Declarations, and all active Does not pay tax declarations end.

  • Declines to make a declaration via a donation form, a Does not pay tax declaration is added to their constituent record under Declarations, and all active Pay tax declarations end.

Note: The start date of a declaration is the date of the transaction.

To add Gift Aid to a donation form:

  1. From Online Giving, Donation forms, select a form to edit or create a new one.

    • For Standard Donation Forms, under Form, select and move Gift Aid from Gift Information in the Form Designer to a location on the form.

Tip: For Standard Donation Forms, you can make changes to the default text in the Gift Aid information label field and include a link for more information about Gift Aid.

    • For Optimised Donation Forms, under Optional fields, select Gift donors the option for you to claim Gift Aid. The option to make a declaration will display after the donor enters their payment information.

  2. To identify where the declaration originates, select a declaration source, such as Donation form in the Declaration source field.

Note: In the database view, you can configure sources in Declaration Source from Tables, in Configuration.

  3. Continue to configure the form and save it.
