Online Giving Loader Script

For the best experience, an Online Giving form should open from your organization's website. The Online Giving Loader Script allows the forms to load on any webpage when you embed it on your website. The loader script is unique to your environment.

The loader script must be in either:

  • a webpage above the form's hyperlink or button, or

  • a root location of your organization's website.

    Tip: If you embed the script in a root location of your website, you only need to do it one time for Online Giving forms because it takes affect for all webpages on the website.

Warning: Do not modify the loader script. Changes can cause Online Giving forms to display or function incorrectly.

Embed the Loader Script on Your Website

After the Online Giving Loader Script is on your website, an Optimized Donation Form can open from any webpage, email, button, or other HTML element. Standard Donation Forms and constituent and membership forms display on the webpage where you place the form's embed code.

To copy the loader script, from Online Giving, select Donation forms, Constituent forms, or Membership forms:

  1. Select any form.

    Note: The loader script is unique to your environment, therefore it's the same across Online Giving forms.

  2. From Publish methods, select Copy for Step 1: Embed loader script.

  3. Embed the copied the loader script on on a webpage or root location of the website.

    Note: If you use Blackbaud Website Package, you will contact Blackbaud Website Package Support and give them the copied loader script. They will embed the script in the <head> of your website's webpages.

Embed the Form on Your Website

After the embedded Online Giving Loader Script is on your website, you can embed the form.

To copy the HTML for a form, from Online Giving, select Donation forms, Constituent forms, or Membership forms:

  1. Select the form.

  2. From Publish methods, under Embed for on webpage, select Copy for Step 2: Embed form.
