Target gift range

The Target gift range is an aggressive projection of how much a prospect can give over the next 12 months.

The Target gift range value is not necessarily the size of gift you should ask for. You might ask for a larger gift spread out over multiple years, or a smaller gift if you are aware of extenuating circumstances.

Prospect Insights considers factors besides wealth to determine a constituent’s target gift range, including the amount, frequency, and recency of gifts to your organization and others. In addition to capacity, the constituent must demonstrate a high willingness to give to your organization. Specifically, the main factors used to determine the Target gift range are:

  • Giving history

  • Giving to other organizations

  • Wealth data

  • Socioeconomic data

Additional factors are considered to improve the projection's accuracy.
