Block and Unblock Portal Access

You can block and unblock a constituent's access to the portal from their constituent record.

Block a portal user

If a blocked user attempts to log into the portal, they will see a restricted access message, and an error appears in the user activity log.

Note: If a blocked constituent has active or scheduled gifts, they will continue to process.

  1. Find and select the constituent, from:

    • Constituents, Constituent lists, or

    • Use Search and enter their name.

  2. Under Portal, select Block user access.

Tip: If you block a constituent who's not a user yet, they're excluded from portal invitation lists.

Unblock a portal user

To unblock a constituent's access to the portal:

  1. Find and select the constituent, from:

    • Constituents, Constituent lists, or

    • Use Search and enter their name.

  2. Under Portal, select Unblock user.

Block or unblock a group of constituents

You can review a list of constituents to block and unblock all at once.

  1. From Constituents, select Portal activity.

  2. Under Portal users, select View user list.

  3. Select the constituents you want to block from:

    • All for all constituents.

    • Linked for those who have a linked Blackbaud ID account.

    • Invited for those who were sent an invitation that is pending or expired.

    • Not invited for those who have never received an invitation.

  4. Select Block users.
