Syncing gifts and registrations from Luminate Online
When new donations are made through Luminate Online, you can sync gift details, either in batch or individually, such as amount, date, and designated fund.
Note: Only the last four digits and expiration date of credit cards are transferred from Luminate Online.
You can only process gifts for constituents who already exist in Raiser’s Edge NXT. If a donation is received from a new constituent, you must first process their constituent record.
Recurring giftsFor a first-time recurring gift, the recurring gift schedule and initial payment are created together in the batch, with the recurring gift labeled as Recurring gift. Once committed, both the recurring gift and first payment are recorded in the constituent’s record. Future payments appear as Cash gifts and link to the original recurring gift upon batch commitment.
Calendar Event registrationsRegistrations for Calendar Events from Luminate Online process as Cash gifts when a fee is collected. Free registrations (with no fee) are also processed and recorded as event registrations, but do not create gift records. For paid registrations, event names appear on the Custom fields tile of the gift record.
TeamRaiser gifts and registrationsWhen you cross reference your TeamRaiser events in Luminate Online with your events in Raiser's Edge NXT, TeamRaiser registrations and associated donations flow into Raiser's Edge NXT for processing. Configure the cross references on the Configure Cross References step during TeamRaiser configuration in Luminate Online.
After processing and committing TeamRaiser registrations and batches that contain associated gifts, the information appears on the constituent record, as well as on the event and registrant records. On the registrant record, participation types are listed on the Custom fields tile, along with details such as team name, team captain status, and the registration page URL.
Write-in fund donationsSome Luminate Online donation forms allow donors to enter a custom fund designation instead of choosing from a preset list. These are called write-in funds.
To process these donations, each write-in must be manually linked to a fund in Raiser’s Edge NXT. Because write-ins don’t automatically match existing funds, it’s recommended to create a placeholder fund in Raiser’s Edge NXT for temporary cross-referencing.
During gift processing, use the donor’s write-in text to identify and link the correct fund. You won’t be able to commit the gift batch until all write-ins are linked.
To link a write-in:
Go to the Gifts and events screen.
In the Fund Linking grid, select Find funds.
Select the appropriate fund to link to the write-in designation.
Once committed, the original write-in text is saved in the Reference field of the gift record.
