Set Phone Type for Online Forms

Phone types categorize the phone numbers on constituent records. When you capture a phone number through a form, you can assign a type — such as Home or Work — to indicate its purpose.

To support global formats, phone type settings vary by region:

  • North American Numbering Plan (NANP) is the telephone numbering plan for Canada, the United States, some Caribbean countries, and geographic regions in North America.

  • All other countries can’t use a display format.

Tip: You can manage phone types in Tables.

To set the NANP phone type:

  1. From Settings, select Tools.

  2. From Form settings, select Update under NANP.

  3. Select a phone type with a number format.

  4. Select Save.

To set the other phone type:

  1. From Settings, select Tools.

  2. From Form settings, select Update under Other.

  3. Select a phone type without a number format.

  4. Select Save.
