Manage Tuition Management Family IDs
With Tuition Management Family IDs you can update a Blackbaud Tuition Management family's ID, linking it to an existing account. For example, through a variety of circumstances, you may discover one family has two to three IDs. This process allows you to identify the current ID and update it with the information associated with the other IDs. Once the update is complete, the extra IDs are removed from the system.
Note: Only Tuition Management administrators have access to this feature.

From Blackbaud Tuition Management, select Settings > Manage Tuition Management Family IDs. The Manage Tuition Management Family IDs page appears, displaying the following information:

Family Id = Current ID

Match Family Id = ID of matched family

To view a detailed comparison of the matched families, you can click on either the link in the Family Id column or the Match Family Id column. Both links take you to the same details page.

To update the Family Id with information contained under the Match Family Id(s), you can select the Select button from either the summary page or the details page.

A warning displays letting you know your about to replace <xxxxxx family Id> with <xxxxxx-correct version>, and asking you to confirm that you want to continue.

After you select Yes, the application checks to see if an invoice was previously sent to this family using the old family Id. If yes, another warning displays, asking you to again confirm that you want to continue.

After the update is complete:

A note is added to the family's account, detailing the update

An email is generated to the primary email address on the account, informing the family of the update and the active Tuition Management Family ID.

In addition, the Audit Trail section of the Manage Tuition Management Family IDs page tracks details of all updates.
