File Menu

File menu item Explanation
New Project

To create a new project, click New Project. The Create a new project screen appears. Enter a name for the project and click OK. For more information, see Set up Configuration Manager.

Project information is maintained in an XML file which contains the project name and file name and a list of environments consisting of the name, web service URL, database, and username. There is a description, password, and version for each environment.

Projects can also contain packages.

Open Project

To open a project, click Open Project. An open file dialog appears. Select the XML file for the project to open.

Open Recent

To open the most recently opened project, click Open Recent.

Connect to a Database

To connect to a database from the project, click Connect to a Database. The Connect to a database screen appears. Complete the form and click OK. A tab for the new connection appears on the main screen. For more information, see Connect to a Database.

This action appears on the file menu and on the main screen next to the project name.

Disconnect from *

To disconnect from a database, open the tab for the connection and click Disconnect from *. For more information, see Disconnect from a Database.

This action appears on the File menu and on the upper-right area of the tab for the connection.

When you disconnect from a database, the environment is removed from your project.

Save Project As

To save a copy of the open project, click Save Project As. A file save dialog appears.

Exit

To exit Configuration Manager, click Exit.
