Under Design, use the HTML editor to design and format content for LinkedIn groups on the page. For more information about the HTML editor, see HTML Editor. |
As you do this, include merge fields to display group information and display the join and view options. For example, include the Join group merge fields so users can join a group on your web page, and include the View group merge fields so users can then navigate to LinkedIn and view the group.
There are several important items to remember as you design this content.
•
The HTML editor default content includes the merge fields you need to display groups on the page. When you customize the content for your page, you can style the part to display a header and you can style the Join group and View group merge fields to appear as links or buttons. |
•
When you include more than one group under LinkedIn groups, the program automatically repeats your content design for each group you include. For example, you design and format the group section once. If you include three groups in the grid, your content appears three times on the web page. |
•
To provide a join option on the web page, you must use the begin and end Join group merge fields, and to provide a view option, you must use the begin and end View group merge fields. If the user is not in the group, the join option appears. If the user is in the group, the view option appears. |
•
Make sure all of the text you include applies to the join option and the view option. The program renders the Join group and the View group merge fields based on whether the website user has joined a group, but the rest of your content in the HTML editor is the same on the page. |
