Blackbaud Profile

With Blackbaud ID, you use your email address to securely sign in to Blackbaud solutions and services. The email address, which appears at the top of your profile, also receives communications from Blackbaud.

If you authenticate through Blackbaud's secure authentication service, you can change your email address as necessary. But if you authenticate through a social sign-in or if your organization enables single sign-on, you don't manage your email address on your profile. Instead, you manage it through the social networking service or your identity provider.

1. On your profile, select the button beside Authentication details and then select Edit email address.

2. To confirm your identity, enter your password.

3. Enter and confirm the new email address.

4. Select Send email.

5. Check your inbox at the new address for a confirmation email, and follow the instructions to confirm the new email address.

You can reset your password at any time if you authenticate through Blackbaud's secure service. Make sure to change it if you think your account was compromised. For information about Blackbaud's password requirements, see Password.

Keep in mind that if you authenticate through a social sign-in or if your organization enables single sign-on, you don't manage your password on your profile. Instead, you manage it through the social networking service or your identity provider.

1. On your profile, select the button beside Authentication details and then select Edit password.

2. To confirm your identity, enter your current password.

3. Enter and confirm the new password.

4. Select Continue.

You can delete your Blackbaud ID if isn't associated with any organizations. This action permanently deletes all personally identifiable information on your profile. To delete any other data stored and owned by Blackbaud, you can file a request.

Warning: This action isn't reversible. Before you proceed, make sure you want to permanently delete your Blackbaud ID.

You can't delete your Blackbaud ID if you authenticate through an organization's single sign-on connection because it is associated with that organization.

1. On your profile, select the button beside Authentication details and then select Delete account. A confirmation screen appears.

   Note: If your Blackbaud ID is associated with any organizations, a prompt explains that you must remove them from your account before you can delete your Blackbaud ID. To remove an organization, select its button under My organizations and then select the option to remove yourself. You must perform this action for all organizations, including nonprofits, schools, and universities. Then you can select Delete account again.

2. To acknowledge that you can't undo this action, select I understand that this action isn't reversible.

3. Select Delete. A screen to confirm your identity appears.

4. Go to your inbox and open the new email from Blackbaud Authentication Services.

5. Copy the confirmation code.

6. Return to the confirmation screen and enter the code.

7. To sign out and permanently delete your Blackbaud ID, select Delete.

Your name and initials identify you in the Blackbaud ecosystem, including for Support, Finance, and your organization admins. To update your name, select the edit button beside Personal information, edit your first or last name, and select Apply changes.

Find the organization under My organizations and select View organization contacts from the menu. To email an admin, select the email address from the list. For example, you may want to contact an admin to request additional permissions for a feature area or task or to make your Blackbaud ID active or inactive.

Tip: If your organization doesn't have an organization admin, contact Support to request one.

Note: Only authorized users can view contact information.

Find the organization under My organizations and select View organization contacts from the menu. To email a customer success manager, select the email address from the list.

Under My organizations, Site IDs appear under the names of the organizations that you are associated with. You may need the Site ID if you contact Support.

Under My organizations, you can edit your personal details for each organization, including your job title, role details, and phone number.

1. Find the organization under My organizations and select Edit my information from the menu.

2. In the Job title field, enter your job title to ensure that you receive communications from Blackbaud that are relevant to you. Admins can also edit the job title on your user record in the organization's Blackbaud solutions.

3. In the Phone field, enter your phone number to ensure that Blackbaud representatives can contact you.

4. From Job level, select the option that most closely aligns with your job level. Your role choice ensures that you receive communications from Blackbaud that apply to your role.

5. From Primary function, select the function that best describe your responsibilities at the organization. If you hold two primary functions at the organization, select an option from Secondary function that most closely reflects your other function.

6. Select Save.

You can't add yourself to an organization. An admin at the organization must send you an invitation. After that, the organization appears on your profile.

Warning: When you remove an organization from your profile, you no longer have access to its solutions. To restore the connection, the organization must send a new invitation.

To remove the association between your Blackbaud ID and an organization, find the organization under My organizations and select Remove myself from this organization from the menu. Then select Remove on the confirmation screen. This removes your Blackbaud ID from the organization and also removes your access to the organization.

To activate MFT, select View MFT Home under Manage File Transfer and then from Managed File Transfer Home, select Use Managed File Transfer (MFT). You'll receive an email with instructions for activating your account. Make sure to activate your account within three hours, before the activation link expires.

You must activate MFT before using it, but you only need to do this one time.

1. Prepare your files by compressing them into a password-protected ZIP file. For database files, compress each one as a separate ZIP file with at least a 256-bit key encryption. We recommend AES-256.

2. Navigate to the appropriate site based on your region.

   • North America: https://mft-us.blackbaud.com/app

   • Europe: https://mft-uk.blackbaud.com/app

   • Asia Pacific: https://mft-aus.blackbaud.com/app

3. Log in to the site by providing your Blackbaud ID email address and password.

4. Navigate to Folders, SHARED FILES, ToBlackbaud, your Site ID, your email address.

5. Select Upload, Select files.

6. Select the files to share. After you send files to Blackbaud, they no longer appear in the Upload area.

When files are shared, you'll receive two emails from Blackbaud: an email notification that contains a link where you can access the shared files and an email with the password required to access the files.

To access the files:

1. From the notification email, select the link to access the files.

2. Enter the access password provided in the second email.

3. Select Submit.

4. Select the file and then select Download.
