Download backup information

You can download data for backups you requested. You can't access ones requested by other users. Backups expire after seven days.

  1. When your requested backup is ready, you'll receive an email notification. Select the link within.

Alternatively, find your completed request in the list of backups and select Download backup. (Access the list from Blackbaud CRM's Cloud Portal and select Backups.)

  2. Review the details.

    • Ticket number

    • Submitter name

    • Date and time

    • Status

  3. For SAS URI, select Copy.

You'll use this Shared Access Signature Uniform Resource Identifier (SAS URI) to retrieve your database backup from Microsoft Azure Storage Explorer.

  4. Download and install Microsoft's free tool for Azure Storage Explorer – cloud storage management. Choose the version for your operating system.

Then follow the instructions in the KnowledgeBase article "How to download a backup using the Microsoft Azure Storage Explorer."

  5. Select Download certificate bundle. A zip file is saved to your local computer. It includes a TDE certificate and related files.

Unzip it to access your Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) certificate.

Then follow the instructions in the KnowledgeBase article "How to restore a Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) database backup."
