Modify a Role

On the Roles page, admins can add and edit roles as necessary for a feature area and delete roles that are not assigned to users. They can perform the following tasks:

Edit Role

To modify an existing role, select Edit role from its menu. For more information, see Roles and Tasks.

Make Inactive

To mark a role inactive for a feature area, select Make inactive from its menu.

  • To display inactive roles for a feature area, select Show inactive roles.

  • Inactive roles do not appear when you select new roles for a user.

  • When you mark a role inactive, its tasks and permissions still apply to the user. Make sure you update the applicable users to remove the role and apply a different one.

Delete a Role

To delete a role for a feature area, select Delete from its menu.

Note: You can't delete a role that is assigned to users.
