Manage Board Memberships

If your organization has been set up to enable Board Memberships, users can include board memberships in their profiles and track volunteer hours. To enable Board Memberships, contact your Customer Success Manager.

Add a new board membership

  1. Select your profile image in the top right corner, then select My Account.

  2. Select Board Memberships.

    Note: If the Board Memberships icon does not appear on this page, contact a customer success representative to enable Board Memberships.

  3. Select +Add Board Membership.

  4. Search for an organization by Organization Name or Registration ID. Use the location search to narrow down the results if necessary. Select Next.

  5. Select your Role. If your role is not listed, select Other Member.

  6. Select the Date Range for the board membership. Select Next.

    Note: A start and end date are both required to save a board membership instance.

  7. If applicable, answer any custom questions. Select Next.

  8. If applicable, review the required affirmation statement. You must agree to the statement by selecting the affirmation field to continue.

  9. Select Save to activate the new role.

  10. Select Add Hours to add board membership volunteer hours now or select Add Later to add hours at a later time.

Add board membership volunteer hours

Once you have added a board membership to your profile, you can begin tracking volunteer hours for that organization by designating it as the Benefiting Organization and indicating your board membership role.

  1. From the top menu bar, select Volunteer, then Record Hours.

  2. Select Get Started.

  3. Enter an Activity Name, Activity Description, and Location. Select Virtual if your volunteering was online-only, with no physical address.

  4. Under Benefiting Organization, search for and select an organization where you have entered your board membership. Select your title from the Board Membership menu.

    Note: If you selected Add Hours immediately after entering a Board Membership, the Benefiting Organization field will be pre-filled for you.

  5. Under Schedule, you can either choose Manually Enter Dates or Set Up Recurring Schedule. If you choose to set up a recurring schedule, enter the information requested below.

  6. Choose Select Activity Type and choose the most relevant option.

  7. Select Continue.

  8. Add Dates and Hours if prompted on the next screen. Select Continue.

  9. Confirm your entries. If your company has enabled Volunteer Time Off and you would like to apply, select Apply for VTO. Select Continue when you are finished.

  10. Select Save. Your logged volunteer hours will now appear on the My Volunteering page.
