Ethnicity Types
Platform managers setup ethnicity types to associate with individuals. Create ethnicity types manually or by importing them with a data import.
Tip: We recommend schools use Races instead of (or in addition to) Ethnicity.

If your school uses the Ethnicity field, educate your staff about how your use of the older Ethnicity field differs from your use of the newer Races field.
Remember the Ethnicity field enables you to select a single value. Thus, the Ethnicity field may not fully describe multiracial individuals.
Tip: We recommend schools use Races instead of (or in addition to) Ethnicity. Schools can select multiple Races for individuals. Thus, Races may better describe multiracial individuals.
For information about Races, including instructions to copy information from Ethnicity into Races in bulk, see Races.
