School Information Settings

Data managers can use the data import process to import school information settings, such as building and room information, religion and ethnicity type options, and more.

  1. Select Core.

  2. Select System tools.

  3. Select Data import.

  4. Select Create import job.

  5. Select the "School info settings" Category.

These Import types appear:

  • Building

  • Rooms

  • Ethnicity type import

  • Role membership import

  • Religion type import

  • Transfer school import

For a list of all import fields, requirements, data types, max length data, descriptions, and information on whether or not you can remove data from the field, open the detailed view screen by selecting the following on the import screen: Category > Import type > View file layout help (under File layout help) > Detailed view. A screen similar to the following displays.

Download Sample Import Layout File

You can view and download sample import files.

  1. Select Core.

  2. Select System tools.

  3. Select Data import.

  4. Select Create import job.

  5. Select the Category and Import type of the information being imported.

  6. Select View file layout help.

  7. Select Detailed view to view the file layout fields; select Sample file to download a sample import file from which you can work to create your import file.

Use the Buildings import type to import building name and type information. Required fields are: building_name, building_type.

Use the Rooms import type to import name, number, capacity, and type information. Required fields are: building_name, room_number.

Use the Ethnicity import type to import ethnicity descriptions. Required fields are: ethnicity_description.

Scheme 1

Use Scheme 1 to import role membership information, such as description and name data, based on the host ID. Required fields are: role_description, host_id, firstname, lastname.

Scheme 2

Use Scheme 2 to import role membership information, such as description and name data, based on the user ID. Required fields are: role_description, user_id.

Use the religion import type to import religion descriptions. Required fields are: religion_description.

Use the transfer school import type to import school transfer information, such as school name, address, and school type data. Required fields are: transfer_school_name.
