Report access
Schools determine who has access to view and run reports.

From a capability, such as Core, select Reporting.

Select Reports. A list of existing reports appears.

Find a report in the list.

On its row, select a count of roles or users with access. A list of roles or users with access appears. You can add and remove roles or users from the list.
Alternatively, select the ellipsis (...) at the start of the row for more options. Then choose how to control access for who can view and run reports:

Manage role access

To grant access, search for a role by name. Choose role from the results. Select + Add to roles.
Note: Don't see the role you expect? A platform manager should enable the corresponding security task for the role. Once the security task is enabled, then the role will appear as an option.

To revoke access, find a role in the list of roles whose users have access. At the start of the row, select Delete (trash icon).

Manage user access

To grant access, search for a user by name. Choose a user from the results. Select + Add to users.
Note: Don't see the role you expect? A platform manager should enable the corresponding security task for a role and the user should be a member of the role. Once the security task is enabled for one of the user's roles, then the user will appear as an option.

To revoke access, find a user in the list of users with access. At the start of their row, select Delete (trash icon).

Select Save.
Note: Want to create or upload a custom report? If your school has an active subscription to the software development kit (SDK) , then your school can use Crystal reports to access SQL views via ODBC and upload the files as custom reports .
Security roles and tasks for reports
Platform managers use security tasks to enable employees to view, run, and manage reports.
Some reports are specific to a manager role (such as a billing clerk). To review the reports associated with a specific role, go to Core, Security, Roles, find a role in the list, and then select the count of reports on its row.
Other reports can be controlled more generally. Consider enabling the these general report tasks for members of security roles at your school.

By default, users who are members of manager roles can access product-specific reports via the Reports menu. When enabled for a platform managers, this task enables the platform manager to preview each report, review the roles (if any) currently able to access each report, and grant individual users access to selected reports.

Reports (1655)
When enabled for a role, members can go to the landing pages for Reports. Find these landing pages in Academics, Billing management, Core, Enrollment management, Extracurricular, and School website. Within each "capability," select Reporting, Reports.

When enabled for a role, members can view the results of a generated report.

When enabled for a role, members can run a report, if they also have access to that specific report.

Generate General Report Job (53616)
When enabled for a role, members can to run reports to generate results. To run a report, the user or role must also have access to the specific report. Access for specific reports is granted by role or by user.
