Profile Notices

Schools use profile notices to alert staff and faculty to sensitive information about students.

Examples

We recommend your school update its Policies and procedures guide to include guidance about how you plan to use notices.

  • Recent death in the family.

  • Parents are going through a divorce.

  • Family member is not allowed to pick student up from school nor contact during school.

  • Contact grandparents if parents are unavailable.

Control who can view profile notices

Admins can view profile notices by default.

For other role combinations, a platform manager determines which profile information is visible (published) when the user's contact card is accessed. For example, determine whether teachers, athletic coaches and dorm supervisors should see profile notices on student records. To learn how, review how to configure Profile publish access.

Tip: List managers can also view profile notices in Students lists and Users lists.

Tip: For information about Hold notices, such as those that appear as a banner above the header of a student record when a student is locked out due to unpaid tuition, see Manage holds.

Warning: For health data, we recommend using Medical instead of profile notices.
