Build a Skills-Based Report Card

Grades and comments from  skills-based grading periods  can be displayed on skills-based report cards.

To build a Skills-Based Report Card:

  1. From the persona menu, select Academics.

  2. Choose Grades then select Report Card Setup.

  3.  Select Report Card Builder.

  4.  Choose the School Year and Level for the Report Card and select View.

  5.  Select Add Skills-based.

Enter the following information:

  • Name

  • Introductory/Closing Text
    This text will appear on all of the Report Cards, some schools choose to put messages from the administration or the grade translation in this space.

  • Display comment label
    Check to display the comment label before the comment.

  • Display grades in grid(can only be used with reporting a single grading period, and cannot be used if Group Grades and Comments is unchecked.)
    Check  to display the grades in a grid where the X-axis is the skill level and the Y-axis is the skill, at the intersection there will be an "x" to mark the grade. If you choose to do this, you will only be able to display one term per report card. 

  • Display as
    Choose page orientation, either portrait or landscape.

  • Teachers
    Choose to display either the head teacher or all teachers.

  • Group Grades and Comments
    When unchecked will display skills-based grades and comments based upon the sort orders set in the marking period (within each skills-based grade type) and can only be used when reporting a single grading period.

  • Attendance
    If attendance is in use, you can choose which attendance displays on the report card. 

    Note: When attendance totals appear on report cards, the numbers are cumulative. The total per grading period includes the sum of that grading period and the previous grading periods for the same academic year.

  • Legend
    Check the box for the desired legend to display.

  • Access Dates
    Enter access dates for roles that will view the Report Cards online.

Click Save.

Add Skills-Based Grading Periods to display on the report card.

  1. Click Add.

    Note: Up to 4 Grading Periods can display in portrait and landscape orientation (before columns bump to a second page).

  2. Choose a Grading Period and click Save & Exit - this will pull over all skills and comments tied to the grading period.

This tab is used to create a Hybrid Report Card. Hybrid Report Cards combine skills and comments from a skills-based marking period with letter grades from a standard marking period.

Note: Traditional grading comments cannot be pulled onto a Hybrid Report Card at this time. 

  1. Enter a Grade Label  and choose the grades from the drop down list next to each marking period.

  2. To add additional grades from standard marking periods, select Add Additional grade.

  3. Select Save & Exit.
