Profile Notices
Schools use profile notices to alert staff and faculty to sensitive information about students.
We recommend your school update its Policies and procedures guide to include guidance about how you plan to use notices.

Recent death in the family.

Parents are going through a divorce.

Family member is not allowed to pick student up from school nor contact during school.

Contact grandparents if parents are unavailable.

Users with the contact card manager or platform manager role can create profile notices.

Select Core.

Select People finder.

In the Type a name field, enter and select the name of the individual you want to work with. The selected individual's profile page appears.

Select Contact card.

In the Profile notices tile, select Add profile notice.

Enter a message for the notice. Consider indicating what to look out for, actions to take or avoid, and who to contact about the situation.

Select Save. The date of creation appears next to the notice.
You can also do this from a user list. From the list, select a name. The user record appears in a "fly-out". If the user has a profile notice, an alert appears in the header at the top of the profile.
Users with the contact card manager or platform manager role can configure profile notices.

In the Type a name field, enter and select the name of the individual you want to work with. The selected individual's profile page appears.

Select Contact card.

In the Profile notices tile, locate the notice. Select the ellipsis (...) and then select Edit profile notice.

Update the a message for the notice. Consider indicating what to look out for, actions to take or avoid, and who to contact about the situation.

Select Save. The date of modification appears next to the notice.

Admins can view profile notices by default.
For other role combinations, a platform manager determines which profile information is visible (published) when the user's contact card is accessed. For example, determine whether teachers, athletic coaches and dorm supervisors should see profile notices on student records. To learn how, review how to configure Profile publish access.

From the class or community group page, select Roster.
If the user has a profile notice, an alert appears in corresponding tile of the roster.

A list of notices appears.
