Asset Transaction Record

The asset transaction record stores all the information you need to track and manage. When you access an asset transaction record, general information appears at the top of the page, such as the asset ID, period, post status, date and amount.

Tip: Colored indicators appear at the top of a transaction to help you easily determine if it has been reversed or posted. You can also click the Reversed indicator to edit the reversal date.

Additional information about the transaction appears in the tiles on the record, such as history and attachments. To edit an asset transaction, open the transaction record and select Edit on the action bar. For example, you might want to change the post status or distribution information.

To delete a transaction from an asset, access and open the transaction from the Transactions list page. From the transaction record action bar, select Delete.

Note: If you delete a posted transaction, a reversal distribution is created.

The Adjustments tile displays the adjustments, or corrections, made to the asset transaction. An adjustment is used to reverse the incorrect post by creating another post with new distributions. You can make transaction adjustments only to posted asset transactions. For more information, see Asset Transaction Adjustments.

The Distributions tile displays account distribution information such as debit and credit accounts and the amount or percent to distribute. To expand the full list of distributions, including any applicable interfund entries for the record, select Extended view. This view provides access to filters, which make locating transaction distributions easier and faster. For example, you can create a list of distributions based on the amount or amount type.

Note: This tile does not appear on asset records set to "Do not depreciate."
