To enter a note for a row, select Note (this appears when you hover over the row's column). In the field that appears, enter your note. When you're done, select Save and then select Close.
Enter a note to track unique information about the row's data. For example, you can add a note to inform other users why an amount changed or to specify that an amount excludes an unforeseen expense.
-
When an issue occurs in a row, the cell causing the issue highlights and an error message appears when you hover over it. The message provides details about the issue so you can resolve it. For example, when the message "The total amount distributed must equal the total amount budgeted" appears, adjust your distributed amounts so they equal the total budget amount.
Note: If you have multiple issues, Previous and Next appear on the error message. Select either option to navigate and resolve each issue.
-
To quickly distribute the total amount across period columns in a row, in the Total budget column, select Distribute. A menu appears for you to select to distribute the total evenly, by percent, or apply a specific distribution defined by your organization.
Tip: The budget distribution sets that appear when you select Apply budget distribution are created in the database view. These provide a custom template for you to enter budget percentages for each period. If the one you need doesn't exist, add it in the database view.
To distribute the total amount for multiple rows at the same time, select the checkbox for each row, and select Distribute at the end of the list. A menu appears for you to select to distribute each total amount evenly, by percent, or apply a specific distribution defined by your organization.
-
To delete multiple rows at the same time, select the checkbox for each row, and select Delete rows at the end of the list. The rows remove from the list after you confirm you want to delete them.
-
To clear amounts for multiple rows at the same time, select the checkbox for each row, and select Clear amounts at the end of the list. The rows remain in the list, but display 0 amounts.
