Import ID

A record's Import ID is a unique number used to identify the record in Financial Edge NXT. The Import ID is used when updating existing records through Import to facilitate the identification of existing records and ensure that data is imported to the correct record.

How to Find Import IDs

You can use Query to find the import IDs of specific records.

  1. Navigate to Query from within the area where the record is found. For example, to find project import IDs, go to General Ledger, Query. To find vendor import IDs, go to Payables, Query.

  2. Select New query.

  3. Under Query type, select the type of record you are importing.

  4. Under Query format, select Dynamic.

  5. Select OK.

  6. On the Criteria tab, select any criteria needed to filter for the records you will be importing. For example, if looking for the import ID of a specific client, select the Client ID or Client name field and set the field equal to the ID or name of the client.

Tip: If you want to obtain all import IDs for all records of this type, leave the Criteria empty.

  7. On the Output tab, expand the record type field you need and then expand the [record} Properties and select to add the [record] import ID. For example, if importing charges, select the Charge, Charge Properties field, and then select Charge import ID.

Tip: If the Output doesn't include an identification field such as the Charge ID, add this field to the output so that you can identify the records to which the Import IDs correspond.

  8. On the Results tab, confirm that the desired records are listed.

  9. Export the results or copy them from the Results tab.

Note: There is not currently a way to query budget scenario IDs or account codes. To update an existing budget, we recommend using the Budget Creator Excel Add-in.
