Check IRS Income Verification Requirements for Your Schools

Your schools may require or offer income verification through the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) using an ID.me account.

To determine if you need to complete income verification before your application is reviewed, check your Home page.

IRS Income Verification Required

If your schools requires IRS income verification:

  • A yellow banner on your Home page indicates that income verification is required.

  • Under Verification, select Start verification to begin.

  • You may still need to upload required documents.

 

IRS Income Verification Offered, but Not Required

If your schools offers IRS income verification, but do not require it:

  • The Verification section appears on your Home page without a yellow banner.

  • Select Start verification to use IRS income verification.

  • You may still need to upload required documents.

 

IRS Income Verification Not Offered

No IRS verification offered.

If your schools do not offer IRS income verification:

  • The Verification section does not appear on your Home page.

  • You must upload the required documents.
