Send Program Invitations
To help improve the invitation process, you can now send application invitations to specific organizations or people and have it be completed by only those users. This replaces the ability to password-protect an application.
Note: When setting up a program in the Applicant & Grantee Portal, if you mark the Invitation only checkbox in the Settings section, the following steps are the only way to allow applicants to submit forms to the Grant Program.

Log into Blackbaud Grantmaking and select Full search at top right.

From Full search, select Contacts.

Select the search filters to help locate the Contact that you wish to send the Program Invitation to then select Search. Results will appear in the Workspace.

Locate the Contact record you intend to invite. Select the menu next to their information and View record.

From the Contact record, select Invite.

From the Invite Contact window, enter or edit the Contact information as needed. If edits to the Contact information are needed, select Cancel and edit the Contact record appropriately.
Warning: The Contact MUST have a valid Email Address, First Name, and Last Name before proceeding.
Note: If the Contact has no Primary Organization assigned, then only individual applicant programs will be selectable in the Program tab.

In the Confirm details tab, verify the Contact information.

In the Select program tab, select the Grant program field and Show all. From the Select item window, select the name of the Program you are inviting the Contact to. Then select the Grant program cycle field and select Show all. From the Select item window, select the name of the appropriate Cycle. Enter any value for Custom message (Optional). This will appear in the {{CUSTOM_MESSAGE}} merge field area of template GC-58. Select Next.
Note: All Published Programs will be available from this selection screen, not just those with the Invite only checkbox marked.

In the Select Organization tab, select the name of the appropriate Organization, then select Submit.
Note: The Organization selection screen searches the NPO organization database using the following details from the Primary Organization associated to the Invited Contact: Tax ID, Name, Legal Name. The search is broad and uses OR statements, but will only return ten (10) pages of Organizations back.

The invited applicant will receive the template email GC-58 from noreply@yourcause.com.

The applicant must select the Go to Invitation button in the email.

The applicant's default browser will open and redirect them to the Login page for the Applicant & Grantee Portal.

Once logged in, the applicant can accept the Invitation and begin working on the Program forms.
