Track progress over time with multi‑response fields
Track progress over time with more flexibility and accuracy. Grant managers can now configure fields to store a separate response for each submission and allow applicants to submit the same progress report form multiple times. Each submission captures its own set of values for multi-response fields, so earlier responses remain available for review.
Why this matters
-
Preserve historical responses across reporting periods
-
Collect repeated updates using the same form
-
Improve reporting accuracy and visibility into ongoing progress
How it works
-
Multi-response fields store a separate value for each submission
-
Single response fields update to reflect the latest submission
-
Each form submission creates a new entry you can report on
Tip: Run an Application report to view each submission in a separate row with its corresponding data.

Control how Responses copy between applications
Control how responses copy between applications to support form‑specific workflows and improve data accuracy. Prevent fields from copying previous responses by default, or override behavior for each form without changing field configuration.
Use Do not copy on a field to stop responses from carrying over between applications. For BBGM forms, set Do not copy responses when copying applications to control copying for each form. When you add a component to a form, it inherits the field setting, but you can update it for that form. The component setting takes precedence over the field setting.
When you copy an application, the component setting determines whether the response copies. This helps prevent outdated or irrelevant responses from carrying forward while supporting different form requirements.
Validate archived status before creating cycles and applications
This release includes enhancements to strengthen how archived programs, cycles, and applications behave to support clearer workflows and more reliable historical data.
-
Add validation to safeguard archived programs and cycles from new activity by ensuring cycles are created only on active programs and applications are created only on active cycles.
-
Expand filtering in the Applications area to include both active and archived programs and cycles, supporting easier access to historical application data. Archived programs and cycles are clearly labeled with (archived) in filters to support accurate selection.
By adding validation and improving filtering, you can confidently separate active work from archived records while still finding the information you need.

Set character limits for Table field columns
Columns in Table fields can be configured with minimum and maximum character limits. To set these limits, edit the form and select Edit component for the Table field, then define the accepted character range for each column in the Columns tab. The system enforces these limits as applicants or grant managers enter data on the form.
This configuration gives grant managers greater control over the information collected.
Note: By default, the character limit value is set to the maximum field allowance.
Enhanced accessibility with larger text and higher contrast
Text across Blackbaud Grantmaking and related applications is now larger, clearer, and easier to read.
The platform uses updated typography and color standards that increase default font size, improve line spacing, and raise contrast for body text, labels, helper text, and placeholders in compliance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines. These changes apply consistently across applicant and grant management areas, including forms, dashboards, and PDF exports.
This update improves readability, reduces eye strain, and helps applicants and grant managers complete tasks more comfortably and confidently across the platform.
