Consider

When you select Consider on a pending submission with fields that are over the character limit, you will now receive a prompt that will allow an admin to manipulate the fields and lower them to an acceptable character range.

Note: Admin can change the character limits on the City, State, Postal code, and Tax ID fields.

Tip: You can Recheck attachments to confirm the attachments pulled correctly.

For more details, see the Applications: Considering Pending Submissions learning.

Truncation Workflow for Applicant & Grantee Portal

Blackbaud Grantmaking continues to incorporate improved features and workflows to better enable customers to work with the Applicant & Grantee Portal. The Truncation feature allows any pending submission that failed to Consider for reasons tied to character limits to be available to Consider successfully by truncating those fields that caused the error.

  1. From Applications, select Pending submissions.

  2. From Pending Submissions, select the checkbox next to the Application that reported the "can not exceed ### characters" error, and select Consider.

  3. From Consider, set the options to your preferences.

  4. Select the checkbox for 'Truncate field values to meet character limits'.

  5. Select Consider. This attempt will now show success.

  6. Once the Application disappears from the Pending Submissions list, select the Historical tab.

  7. Locate the Considered Application.

  8. Once located, select the blue '!' icon in the row.

  9. The truncated fields screen appears.

Tip: For your records, please take note of the fields that were truncated.

Note: The associated PDF to the application will still contain the original response before truncation. There will be no loss of applicant-inputted data.
