Add Widgets to Dashboards
The charts, tables, and cards that are shown on dashboards are referred to as widgets. Widgets are unique to each dashboard. Because of this, either system templates (i.e., Standard templates) or existing widgets (i.e., My widgets) must be used to create a new widget OR the user must create a new widget from scratch.
Note: For more information about customizing specific chart type, viewing examples of common configurations, and more, see the Configure Widgets resources.
Tip: If an Aggregation field is included in a dashboard, the field will display an aggregated value across all form responses for that application.

Standard templates are widgets that have been created by the system for common use cases. Users can use these templates to create a new widget to add to dashboards.
-
Navigate to the Home page.
-
Select the ellipsis icon on the dashboard tab and then Add widget.
-
Select the All widgets filter and change to System templates to view only widget templates.
-
From the list of widgets, select the document icon (i.e., Use as template) next to the item.
Tip: When a widget is selected to be used as a template, the user has the option to update its configuration before adding it to the dashboard. The widget's original settings will appear in the Edit Widget screen in the next step.
-
From the Edit Widget screen, update the widget's configuration as desired or leave the settings as-is.
Tip: Update the Header field in the Details tab to change the name of the widget.
-
Save the widget to add it to the dashboard.
Once the widget has been created from the template and added to the dashboard, it will be automatically saved to the list of widgets available in the Add Widget screen under My widgets.

My widgets are widgets that a user has already created or are in shared dashboards to which a user has access. These widgets can be used as templates to create a new widget to be added to dashboards.
-
Navigate to the Home page.
-
Select the ellipsis icon on the dashboard tab and then Add widget.
-
Select the All widgets filter and change to My widgets.
-
From the list of widgets, select the document icon (i.e., Use as template) next to the item.

If no templates exist in either Standard templates or My widgets, a new widget can be created from scratch.
