Entering a donation
From a phone call or a text message, you can record a donation. You can send a credit card donation link or record a pledge from the calling workflow. From the texting workflow, you can enter pledges only by selecting Record Pledge.

From a phone call, if the prospect has confirmed an interest in making a donation select Record Donation. As the agent, you'll enter the amount they have said they will donate. If they don't share the amount, selectUnspecified.
Then, select a designation from the dropdown. When your manager sets up your campaign, they configure the list of designations available in the dropdown. Depending on the campaign settings, you may also be able to search across all available designations, you may be able to select an "Other" option that will allow you to enter a free text designation.
When you select Next, you can enter matching gift details before you send a credit card donation page link or record a pledge.

From the calling workflow, select Credit Card - New to enter the prospect's contact information. While still on the phone, confirm their email or text message phone number where want to receive the donation link. To send the prospect the donation page where they can securely enter their own credit card information, select Next.
You can then confirm with the prospect that they received the link and can fill out the form successfully. If the link doesn't arrive while on the phone, you can select the Convert to Pledge button.
If the donation is successful while you are completing the calling workflow, the screen updates to show you that the donation was processed. Then, use the Submit button to complete the call and record the results.

When you record a donation and complete the gift and matching gift details, you can select to Record a pledge. The pledge payment details screen enables you to enter the prospect's preferences for how they are to receive their pledge payment request. They can receive it online by email or text, or by mail. Select Next and then Pledge to complete and record the donation.

From a text message, select Record Pledge. You first enter an amount and select a designation from the Designation dropdown. When your manager sets up your campaign, they configure the list of designations available in the dropdown. The dropdown shows only the designations your manager set up for the campaign. Depending on the campaign settings, you may also be able to search across all available designations, you may be able to select an "Other" option that will allow you to enter a free text designation.
You can add up to 5 different designations and amounts by selecting the Add Another Gift link.

Based on Payment Card Industry (PCI) requirements, spoken (voice) transmission of cardholder data over VOIP falls outside of the current design and intended use of Blackbaud Guided Fundraising. If you choose to accept card numbers verbally via phone, you agree that your organization accepts PCI security standards for handling that transaction (pcisecuritystandards.org).
Donation options
To help you better understand options that you fill out with the prospect during the donation, review the field information.

If the donor does not specify an amount, you can select the Unspecified box below the amount. You will only be able to select 1 designation if the amount is unspecified, and will only be able to submit the donation as a pledge.

You can choose to enter the gift as a one-time gift or as a monthly recurring gift. Depending on the campaign configuration, this option may not be available.

The Matching Gift section gives you a chance to update the prospect's employer and ask if they know of any matching gift programs through their employer.
You can indicate the donor's response by selecting "Yes," "No," or "Not Sure" from the Matching Gift drop down. If you have looked up the donor's employer through matching gift lookup system, you can also indicate the result using this drop down. If you choose "Yes," you will be prompted to indicate the amount that the donor's employer will match.

This is a free text area where you can provide additional information related to the donation. If there is specific information that you were not able to capture in the donation form fields, that information can be captured here. This can include specific instructions about how the donor wants their gift designated, or if a donor wanted a recurring gift ended after a specific date or specific number of occurrences.

You should choose the “Other” button if you will take a payment outside of Blackbaud Guided Fundraising. For example, this option can be used if you enter the payment information in a dedicated payment terminal. This allows you to still record the donation in Guided Fundraising for reporting purposes, while capturing the payment in an external system.

You will be presented with a confirmation page before submitting the donation. Review all information before submitting.
