To create a custom target

  1. On the Select Targets process page, click Manage Targets.

  2. Click Create target.

  3. Complete the text fields as needed (such as Mrs. or Honorable for Title; CEO of XYZ for Description). You must enter at least a First Name or a Last Name. Make sure you also provide Email, Fax, or both if they will be used to deliver this alert.

  4. Select the appropriate Security Category to control who can access or edit the target when creating an alert.

  5. Select a Target Type from the drop-down menu. If there are no existing types or you want to create a new one (such as Business), select the second radio button and enter the name of the new type. Click Save. (You can only add one type at a time.)

  6. When you are finished, click Save and then click Done to return to the Other Targets screen.

  7. Navigate to your newly created target in the folder tree (the Target Type you selected displays as a folder). Select the checkbox for the target.

  8. Click Save. The Select Targets process page re-displays, with the new target listed under Specifically Targeted Alert Recipients.
