Quick Reference - LTE Custom Pages
The following table describes each customizable page of your Letter to the Editor alert. You can perform a variety of customizations for each page, such as editing section headings, toggling the display of certain sections, and customizing the Send or Next button. For full details, please refer to Editing the Custom LTE Alert Pages.
Page Name | Description and Guidelines |
---|---|
ZIP Code | If Constituent Matching is set to Local for any targets, this is the initial alert page that displays to advocates not yet identified by a ZIP code. Available media targets are then filtered by the advocate's ZIP code. Advocates can also use this page to change their ZIP code. |
Take Action |
This is the primary page of your alert. It either displays immediately when an advocate first accesses
the alert, or after the advocate completes the ZIP Code page. Advocates provide identifying Contact
information such as name and email, and also complete any custom questions you have added. Then they
compose the letter they will send to media targets, using the talking points that you provide on the
Alert Message process page.
You can use the Page Content area of this page to explain the issue, why action is important, what stage the decision is in, and so on. You can also make the page more compelling by using text, bullet points, graphics, links to other pages, and other components (such as a survey or a campaign). |
Thank You | If selected on the Thank You Page Options process page, this is the standard page that displays after advocates successfully send their letter(s). While you can simply save the default text, it is recommended that you compose a more appealing message using formatting, personalization, and links to other areas of your site. |
Tell-a-Friend | If selected on the Thank You Page Options process page, this page displays after advocates successfully send their letter(s), so that they can forward the alert to friends. |
Tell-a-Friend Confirmation | If selected on the Thank You Page Options process page, this page displays after advocates complete the Tell-a-Friend form. While you can simply save the default text, which includes a link to your site home page, it is recommended that you compose a more appealing message and possibly include links to other areas of your site. |
Not Published | This page displays to anyone who follows a link to a page that has been unpublished or was never published. |
Alert Already Taken | This page displays to anyone who has already taken action on this alert. You may wish to include results for the issue and display other active alerts. |
Alert Expired | This page displays to anyone who follows a link to this alert after it has become inactive. You may wish to explain the impact of your organization’s efforts, include results for the issue, and/or display other active alerts. It is always recommended that you link back to a live page from this page. |
