Author Role

The Author role provides limited administrative access within a folder. A Folder Author may do the following in that folder (including a site's root folder):

  • create and edit content such as web pages, files, and images.
  • submit content for approval and publication to the Web.
  • copy Live documents (the copy is created as an unpublished Draft, which the Author may edit and submit for approval).
  • be assigned a task in a custom work flow.

An Author cannot:

  • publish content to the Web.
  • delete or expire (change the Live status of) published items.
  • move published items between folders.
  • perform administrative tasks such as accessing, managing or editing folder permissions or custom approval work flows.
