To create an RSS feed

You can create many different kinds of RSS feeds in your CMS site by editing the properties of each feed. Feed fields include static elements of the field as well as dynamic "item" tag elements that are mapped to content types.

  1. Go to the Reports and Tools page.

  2. Click RSS Feeds under Site Management.

  3. On the RSS Feeds page, click New Feed on the toolbar. The RSS Feed Properties dialog appears.

  4. Specify the properties of the feed.

Example: To configure an RSS feed based on relative date range

There are numerous ways to configure your RSS feeds. In this example, we configure a feed to include an organization's last five press releases according to their last-published date.

  1. Create an RSS feed.

  2. Enter a Title and Description.

  3. Select the Press Release content type.

  4. In the Content Filter field, click Browse. The Content Filters dialog appears.

  5. Click New Filter. The New Content Filter dialog appears.

  6. Configure the filter as follows:

    • Label: Last Five Press Releases by Publication Date
    • Content Type: Press Release
    • Date range: Recent
    • Date within the last: 52 Week(s)
    • Date field: Last Published (or any other standard or custom date field, such as Release Date, that has been configured for this content type and is available in the menu)
  7. Click OK to create the filter and close the dialog.

  8. In the Content Filters dialog, select the new filter in the Filter Title window.

  9. Click Select.

  10. In the RSS Feed Properties dialog, enter 5 for the Item Limit.

  11. Click OK.
